 GREENSBURG, Pa. (KDKA) — Police say a past Dollar General chairman took more than $17,000 from a store.

According to subject matter experts, Austin Rider chose to keep the cash on May 4 from the Salem Township store. He formed a note saying he took the money and evaporated.


"The whole course of action behind it was he intended to take the youngster he was dating, their child together, and they wanted to go the country over," Limani said.


Two or three days sometime later, experts said Rider called another head at Dollar General, saying he expected to propose back a piece of the money. What has been the deal with the rest?


"Exactly when they were endeavoring to move him to return the money, the statements were acquired that the money was proposed to other people," Limani said.

Police tracked down him on May 13. He is at present expecting his starter hearing on robbery accusations.


KDKA-TV dropped by Rider's Jeannette home on Wednesday to address his family, but we were told to leave.
